New Pressure Smart XD products have eliminated the variation seen in sheepskins
and lambskins. The pile density in all products is the same throughout and does not
vary from one part of the product to another; compared with sheepskins which have
variable pile densities. Pressure Smart XD has a greater wool weight /square metre
than sheepskin or lambskin- up to 1900g/square metre. The wool fibre diameter and
length is the same throughout the product. Early trials have shown that Pressure
Smart XD out performs sheepskin in all areas: pressure reduction, shear reduction
and moisture absorption- the 3 major causes of pressure sores, bedsores and decubitus
ulcers.
