Incontinence and Pressure Sore Prevention
Incontinence contributes greatly to the possibility of skin breakdown and the development of bedsores, pressure sores and decubitus ulcers. Skin breakdown is usually caused by a combination of pressure, moisture and friction. The challenge for all is to reduce these factors so that pressure sores do not develop. Maintaining skin integrity of incontinent clients can achieved with the judicious use of
HiTemp Urine Resistant (UR) Australian Medical Sheepskins.
HiTemp UR Australian Medical Sheepskins ( M102, M103 and M105) are the only
sheepskins available that will not break down in the presence
of urine. These machine washable sheepskins are best cleaned and conditioned with Woolskin ( W103)- Sheepskin Shampoo and Conditioner with Tea Tree Oil .

Hospital Fleece (F102 and F103) is also recommended for incontinent clients. Our Hospital Fleece Pads ( F103A, F103B and F103C) have a breathable waterproof backing, making them ideal for mattress and wheelchair seat protection.
